  • The Micff India, Film Festival is the latest annual in-person event to be affected by the COVID-19 Omicron variant

  • A statement from the Micff Academy confirmed that the event would be 'postponed' out of an abundance of caution.

  • Micff India 2021 edition scheduled for 10th-11th March'2022

Our primary concern is always the responsibility we feel towards our staff, artists, audience, and filmmakers who travel to Mumbai from various places. We remain committed to the city of Dreams, where weโ€™ve hosted the Micff India 2020 Inagural Edition and will do so again when it is safe.

Organizers said they hope on holding the event in March 10th & 11th at Pvr Juhu,Mumbai.

NSD alumni Sunita Rajwar, who is also a Festival co-founder emphasized that the event, which was to open in Dec'2021, is not being canceled, just postponed, due to COVID concerns.

MICFF is the only festival in India which gone completely in-person at the physical venue (PVR Cinemas, Juhu) at the heart of the Bollywood capital Mumbai on 7th & 8th Dec'20 by strictly following all the guidelines and protocols issued by the Government of India & Maharashtra.

In 2020, successful screening and huge participation by the filmmakers across the world reflects that cinema is more alive than ever. It remains unique, irreplaceable. Thanks to those who make it, those who give it life and those who receive it and make it glorious. The challenge has been never so compelling. We will see it soon: Cinema is not dead, itโ€™s not even sick.
